Original handwritten testimonial

This note to you is an emotional one to write, as you have been such a constant in my life these past 3 years. You are a master; you have a level of mastery in providing exceptional care without revealing the effort it takes. There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes. I leaned into your expertise many a time, especially during this pandemic. Our entire family thanks you for your many gifts that helped our Dad (and Mum) live more comfortably & safely in their home. Thank you.

— Ron & Gigi + Pat

Thank you so much for all the ladies you have provided over the last few months, especially Glori and Bernadette who were wonderful with Brian.

I have no words to express how grateful I am to you all.

— Lesley

Just a quick THANK YOU for your support over the past 9 months. Robin was 100% correct when she recommended Royalty Home Care to me.

Don seems to have adjusted to Amica and is not complaining, but I am so glad to have been able to keep him at home as long as we did, especially thanks to Jenny.

Sincerely,

— Teri

I would like to take this chance to thank you for all the times you have helped me survive in Canada. You are truly a blessing to everyone who knows you. I have always enjoyed working for you, and I look back with fond memories of that time. Thank you so much. You are in my prayers.

— Gloria

Thank you for your kind and understanding assistance in finding excellent care workers for us. It has only been one month, but already I can see the difference this help will make in our lives as we continue to live at home.

— Frances

I wanted to express my appreciation for Erma and Helen. As Richard gets worse, I continue to be impressed by the care and concern shown to him, and their understanding of his needs, even as his ability to express himself deteriorates. We are so pleased we found you, and that you assigned Richard to two wonderful ladies. Thank you.

— Richard's Family

Thank you again for your dedication to helping provide much needed in-home care. Our family was thrilled to be able to keep mum in her home. On her last day she was still able to enjoy watching her hummingbirds come to their feeder. Take good care.

— Pam & Alf

Our family sends grateful thanks for the wonderful care your special in-home caregivers, Rosine, Joan, and Cherry, gave to my dear husband and father for the last three weeks of his life.

— The Henry's

Thank you so much for being a loving and caring part of Mum's life. Jan and I were visiting Mum yesterday evening, and before we left she changed into her pyjamas. We should all look so lovely on the eve of our 96th birthday.

— Mum's Family

Thank you for providing such a reliable service. I could always depend on you to sort out additional hours or changes in schedules whenever the need arose. Your ability to listen and provide good advice was very much appreciated.

COMEY, Beatrice Elaine (Crossley) 1916–2013

Bea passed away peacefully at Inglewood Care Centre in West Vancouver on Friday August 30th, 2013 in her 97th year. Her family was at her side. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 16th, 1916. Bea is lovingly remembered by her children, Janice (Bill), Larry (Diane) and Patrick (Marissa). Her grandchildren are Paul and Colm (Hemmick), Sue Cheung and Dr. Robert Comey. There are nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bea was predeceased by her parents George and Clara Crossley and her brothers Fred, Arthur and Bob. Prior to her marriage to Patrick in 1940 Bea was a secretary with British American Oil Co. in Edmonton and Regina. The family moved from Edmonton to North Vancouver in 1952 where Bea was a gracious hostess to many of Pat's business associates and fine china factory owners from England. Her roast beef was always medium rare. Her roles as wife, mother and grandmother were her crowning glory.

Bea and Pat celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in June 2005 (Pat's 90th and final year). She will be missed by all. The family thanks Royalty Home Care and Bea's caregivers for their loving care over the past 6 years.

— The Comey Family

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dan and all his staff for their care with our cousin, Don. His team members went above and beyond in their care at a time that was exceptionally difficult and emotionally exhausting for the family. We had 24-hour, 7-day care for our cousin for 9 months. The live-in staff were compassionate, caring, and diligent in the way they cleaned, cooked, and cared for Donnie, our cousin. With a special thanks to Norma, she treated Donnie like he was family, and for that we will be forever grateful.

— Dave, Margaret & Family

I wanted to tell you how wonderful you and your staff have been. Everyone from your company was not only reliable and capable, but did what had to be done with warmth, care, and consideration. I know that Jean appreciated all of the attention she received, and anyone who is looked after by your people will be in excellent hands. I commend you for finding consistently good people; they have all been thoughtful and compassionate.

— Vivian

When I first was looking for home care for my father, Royalty was the first to respond to my queries and the most helpful. My father is a difficult person, but you made him feel at ease. You handled doctor appointments, made sure he took his medications, and far more. You were even able to hire someone to care for his yard. Since I live on the island, it would have been impossible to let Dad stay in his home without your help. You made it so that I didn't have to worry about every little thing. You and all the care workers that have looked after my father are amazing people. I don't know what I would have done without you. Thank you so very much.

— Stephanie

You really have gone above and beyond. You were a rock for us and gave us peace of mind and comfort knowing you were looking out for Dad. I can't thank you enough for everything you did and do. There was so much of it. You are a very kind, caring, and generous person. Thank you for everything you did for Dad and for us.

— Stephen

Thank you for your comforting message. Alf really enjoyed Merle and Jean coming. I was able to thank Jean when she popped across the driveway for a visit, but perhaps you kindly thank Merle for me for her kindness to Alf. Take care.

— Joan

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your ladies very much for taking care of Mary Wilkinson. Your service provided the assistance we needed at the time we needed it, and we are very grateful for all your care. We wish you all the very best.

— Doug, Melanie, Paul & Wendy

Thanks for all your support. When life is really difficult, it helps to have people like you to lean on. I am impressed with all the work done by Royalty Home Support. You and your staff always come through to help families choose illness.

— Eve

Thanks for all your care and support of our Mama Daphne. Truly — we couldn't have done it without you. It's been quite a year. You and your Royalty team led with their professionalism, and true caring. Wow!

We'll miss you! We may call you soon… hehe.

— Daphne's Family

My siblings and I would like to say a big thank you for helping us take good care of our mother in the last two and a half years of her life. We are particularly grateful to the care team who looked after her with compassion, dedication, professionalism, and love. They also brought laughter, humour, flowers, and the outside world into her life when she was housebound. Each of them is special to us, and we are deeply grateful for their sharing in the journey of our mother's life.

— Siew & Siblings

I wish to let you know that our dear mom passed away on October 30, 2014. Sadly, she had a setback at Evergreen and went back to hospital. Thank you to the lovely caregivers for the remarkable people they are, including Aujin, Cora, Flora, and others. Thank you for all your help.

— Cathy

I can't thank you enough for all the things you did, the work you gave me, and for being such a positive part of Royalty. I always treasure the experience I gained while working with your clients and their families. I am so thankful for giving me hours of work, especially when I did not have anything. Thank you also for being patient with me and helping me with my schedule as I worked toward becoming a nurse. I hope to see you again soon. Once again, thank you.

— Jeanne

I can't stress enough how good Brenda and Jackie have been with Mom under what I feel are difficult circumstances. Their patience and care have shown through many times, and we can't thank them enough.

— Liz

We can't thank you enough for coordinating such excellent care for Dad over the past year and a half. You always stepped up to ensure everything ran smoothly, and we truly appreciate how often you went above and beyond to help out in so many ways. We are grateful for your compassion and professional support. Thank you as well for all that you did for Janet and me, and of course for our father. You were always there to help in a crisis and made sure everything and everyone stayed on course. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

— Janet, June, Maureen

It was a pleasure to work with you. I truly appreciated your work and support during a very difficult time. You always made time to answer my questions and provide guidance, and your kindness and professionalism meant a great deal.

— Margaret

My mom had a stroke in December and I was told by the doctors that I couldn't take her home without 24-hour care. After contacting Royalty, within 48 hours we were introduced to an amazing caregiver who would become Mom's full-time caregiver. Our family grew to love her, and she was with Mom until the very end. When Mom returned home one evening having trouble breathing, her caregiver called 911. Mom was admitted to emergency and passed away two hours later holding her hand. I can't say enough for how Dan and his team quarterbacked everything for Mom during the seven months she was in their care. Dan was an amazing resource and provided exceptional care. I unconditionally recommend him to anyone looking for extended care for a loved one.

— Robin

I am most pleased with Eva's services. She is quick, thorough, and courteous, and just so very kind and pleasant to be around. She leaves my home sparkling.

— Mary

A special thank you to Dan, Joy and the Royalty Home Care girls, who provided Mom with the care and patience that she thrived on in her last year.

— Mom's Family

Thank you for helping keep some sense of normalcy in our lives this past year. Thank you for fielding calls from all of us, some of them quite desperate. Thank you for your patience.

— Margaret, Nick, Robbie & Eileen

My family and I want to express our thanks for the wonderful care that you provided our father in his final five years. The caregivers who looked after him were excellent, conscientious, and very dedicated, and without them he would not have had the comfort of staying in his own home. We also want to thank you for never being more than a phone call away. You were always proactive in helping with medical appointments, prescriptions, and other needs, and you and your caregivers were consistently kind and supportive to our father and our family. We are deeply grateful for everything you provided and for the wonderful companion care and kindness shown to our mom as well.

— Patty

To have a sudden change from independent to dependent is a big change. Thank you for coming to my aid so quickly and with such good helpers.

— Jean

Thank you so much for all you have done to keep our Dad, aka "Sir Gordon," happy at home.

— Ann

Just a short note to say thank you for your kindness and caring, for giving me a ride on Thursday, and for having the patience to wait for me and then drive me to work. You are a very good employer and it shows that you care about your employees. You will surely be blessed for your good work. Thank you again.

— Marie

Thank you for the prompt and excellent care for my father. Your service helped my father stay at home for two weeks before going into hospice. We are very grateful and will definitely recommend you to friends.

— Andrew

We cannot say enough about how wonderful Dan and Royalty Home Care Service was for our dad and us. Trying to manage Dad's ever-increasing needs was very challenging long distance, as his daughters live in Seattle and Whitehorse. However, whenever we called, day or night, Dan would answer in such a friendly and supportive way. Whatever our request or challenge was, he would always make us feel like everything was going to be taken care of, and that he would take care of it, and he always did in a very compassionate and timely way.

Our dad loved his home on the North Shore that he had lived in for close to fifty years. He was very adamant that he didn't want to live in a care facility, although our mom was residing in one, and wanted to spend his final years in his own home. We were first introduced to Dan through a series of long-distance calls late on a Friday night. Calling Dad in the evening we discovered he was in very rough shape with a stomach virus. In less than an hour Dan and a care aide arrived at Dad's door.

It was such a relief to hear that the very qualified care aide could stay with Dad overnight and longer if needed. After that critical night Dan continued to help us out. As Dad's needs increased, Dan's care aides were there initially once or twice a week visiting him to cook, clean, grocery shop, and take care of his bathing. Eventually the care aides provided 24-hour care. The care aides were all absolutely wonderful, and his 24-hour care aide, Erma, was so attentive to his needs.

Not only did Dan provide us with care aides, but with a gardener that came and took care of the outside of the house as well. Even after our Dad passed months later, Dan and Erma were there to help us clean Dad's house to prepare it to sell, far above and beyond our expectations. We would highly recommend Dan and his ability to provide top-notch home-care aides and services. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
